Three sessions free without an account. Seven once you make one.

RekAi keeps what you tell it — your gym, your usual forty-five minutes, the knee that flares up, the exercise you can't stand — and builds every session from there. Open it two days after leg day and it already knows. Then it coaches you through it, set by set.

Hi, I'm Maya. Text me “workout” and I'll build you a session, or grab the app and I'll coach you through every set.

How it remembers

Monday you tell it. Wednesday it already knows.

Most apps start from zero every time you open them. RekAi keeps what you have told it — your gym, your time, what hurts, what you can't stand — and picks up where you left off.

Monday

What have you got to train with today?
Full gym, about 45 minutes. And please, no burpees — I hate them.
Last thing — anything bothering you today?
My left elbow is a bit sore.

You train. It listens.

All of it is in your profile. Delete anything, any time.

Wednesday

Two days since Lower Body Power. What have you got to train with today?
Same: Full gym Home gym Dumbbells
Last thing — is your left elbow still bothering you today?

One tap, and it's building. No burpees.

It picks up where you left off

It knows what you trained last and when, so legs yesterday means something else today — and loads climb from what you actually lifted.

Your usual is one tap

Same gym, same forty-five minutes? Tap "Same" and move on. It still asks, because some days you're in a hotel with a pair of dumbbells.

You can see all of it

Everything it remembers about you is in your profile, in plain words. Wrong, or no longer true? Delete it. Nothing is hidden and nothing is sold.

Training around an injury

Say what hurts. Watch the session change.

Most training apps treat a sore shoulder as a reason to skip a day. RekAi treats it as an input — the same as your equipment or the forty minutes you have before work.

It asks before it writes a single set.

Every session, before it writes a single set, the coach asks "anything bothering you today?" — and if you told it about a knee last week, it asks about the knee by name. Answer it and the whole session is built differently — and it shows you its working, in plain words, movement by movement.

  • Swaps a barbell press for dumbbells when your elbow is complaining, and says so
  • Changes the grip rather than dropping the movement when the grip is the problem
  • Keeps the muscle in the session and takes the strain off the joint
  • Tell it once — the next session already knows, without asking again

From a real session, written for a mild tennis elbow: “Selected Dumbbell Incline Press over Barbell Bench Press to allow for greater grip adjustability and reduce potential strain on the mild tennis elbow.”

RekAi is general fitness guidance, not medical advice. It programmes around an injury you describe; it does not diagnose one. If something is painful rather than stiff, see a doctor or physiotherapist first.

The RekAi coach chat asking “Anything bothering you today?”, with one-tap replies for nothing today, knee, shoulder and back.

How it works

A short conversation, then you train.

No six-screen onboarding, no body-fat survey, no credit card.

It asks what hurts

A tender shoulder, a dodgy knee, a back that flares up — or nothing at all today. Whatever you say shapes every movement that follows, and it keeps shaping them until you say the injury has cleared.

It asks what you've got

A full gym, a pair of dumbbells, or a hotel room and forty minutes. RekAi programmes for what is actually in front of you rather than what it wishes you had.

It coaches you through it

A countdown you can hear into every set, a timer you can read from the floor, and a demonstration of every movement. You log what you actually did — and next time it starts from there.

While you train

Put the phone down. It counts you in.

This is the part that makes it a coach rather than a list. It takes you through the session so you are not squinting at a screen between sets — with the timer live on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, and on Android in the notification shade.

  • A countdown you can hear and feel into every set, and through timed efforts — your reps are yours to count
  • Rest timers that tell you the next weight before you get to it
  • A demonstration of every movement, matched to the exercise by name
  • Swap anything mid-session when the rack is taken — or when a movement starts to niggle
  • Log the reps and weight you really did, not what you were told to do
The RekAi pre-session screen with the coach's portrait, reading “Maya is taking you through this” above a Start button.

It remembers

The next session starts where the last one finished.

Injuries, loads and history carry over. You tell it about the shoulder once; it programmes around it on Wednesday and Friday too, until you tell it the shoulder is fine. Open the app two days after leg day and it already knows — and your usual gym and session length are one tap.

  • An injury you mention is stored against your profile, not just today's session
  • It remembers your last session, your usual kit and how long you like to train
  • Say you hate burpees once and it notes it — every note is in your profile, and you can delete any of them
  • Weights come from arithmetic on what you actually lifted, never invented
  • Muscles you trained hard get left alone to recover, and nothing repeats inside a week
  • Train towards a goal and it lays out the weeks, then writes each session in its place
  • Streaks, totals and a leaderboard if you want one — off if you don't

What it won't do

The honest part.

Every fitness app promises. Here is what this one deliberately does not.

It won't invent numbers

Weights come from arithmetic on what you have lifted before. Session totals are the real totals. If it doesn't know something, it asks instead of guessing.

It won't give medical advice

RekAi is general fitness guidance. It programmes around an injury you describe; it does not diagnose one, and it is not a substitute for a doctor or physiotherapist.

It won't track you around the internet

There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers and no third-party trackers in the app. What it stores is what it needs to coach you.

It won't nag you into paying

The free sessions are genuinely free and need no card. When the paywall appears it shows both prices and both terms, and the monthly option is not hidden.

Questions

Before you download.

How does it actually train around an injury?

You tell the coach what is bothering you — in your own words, or with one tap on a knee, shoulder or back. It then changes the session rather than shortening it: substituting a movement, changing a grip or an angle, or working the same muscle from a position that does not load the sore joint. Every change it makes is listed on the session under “Adapted for you”, with the reason in plain words, so you can judge it yourself. It is general fitness guidance, not medical advice — if something is painful rather than stiff, see a doctor or physiotherapist first.

Do I need a gym?

No. Tell RekAi you have a pair of dumbbells, a resistance band or nothing at all, and it programmes for that. It is equally happy with a full commercial gym, and it will use the machines, the sled and the kettlebells if you have them.

Do I have to make an account?

Not to try it. Three complete sessions work with no account at all. Registering — with Apple, Google, or an email address and password — raises that to seven and means your history survives changing phone.

What happens to my injury information?

It is stored against your profile so the coach can programme around it without asking again every session. It is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and you can delete it — see the Privacy Policy.

Can I cancel?

Yes, in your App Store or Google Play account settings, the same as any other subscription. Cancelling stops the renewal; you keep access until the period you have paid for runs out.

Is it safe if I'm new to lifting?

RekAi asks about your experience and programmes accordingly, and every movement comes with a demonstration and form cues. It is still general fitness guidance rather than medical advice — if you have a condition or a serious injury, talk to a doctor first.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone on iOS 17 or later, and Android. The Lock Screen timer and Dynamic Island features need iOS 17 or later on a supported iPhone.
